Our diet and lifestyle plays an important role in managing our health. An imbalanced lifestyle and unhealthy diet can invite many diseases in our system, whereas a balanced lifestyle and healthy meals can help in preventing many chronic illnesses.

Weight gain is a sign of an upcoming disease. An unhealthy weight can cause many disease such as high cholesterol, diabetes, thyroid disease etc. So managing a healthy weight is very important.

Many of us believe that fasting or cutting down on our meals is a healthy way to lose weight, but it is not right in all cases. Our digestion, metabolism and appetite is different from others and the variable gut health means that our diet plan will also vary.

Various types of digestions

  1. The first category is the one who has a very strong digestion and very fast appetite. They are hungry all the time and tend to eat a lot at their main meals. So if they fast or cut down on their meals, they start losing energy. Their body is asking for food to function and they donot fulfil the requirement to yield energy. Eventually the body start to become more weak and deficient.
  1. The second category is the people with variable digestion and appetite. These people eat small meals at various intervals. They lose energy quickly and then their body asks for food to fulfil that requirement. Fasting is not considered as appropriate for them.
  1. The third category are the people who have a very slow digestion and weak appetite. They can skip meals easily as they are not hungry very often. As this category of people have a weak digestive fire, fasting can be advised to them.

In order to lose weight it is important to understand what kind of digestion you have and then eating accordingly. This can help in managing an appropriate weight without losing energy and causing deficiencies in your body.

Some  tips for healthy weight:

  1. Eat only when you are hungry.
  2. Donot overeat rather eat a little less that your appetite.
  3. Eat at proper timings
  4. Make your lunch as the main meal of the day.
  5. Have your meals mindfully and chew your food well.
  6. Avoid heavy meals at dinner.
